She ased me to play a concerned Stranger

Recorded outside of Narrm-Melbourne on Gadubanud Land, where I've been lucky enough to retreat to thanks to friends Samaan and Tilly who I'm generally eternally grateful to for being such excellent people... and to the land and its traditional owners, the Gadubanud people, where I crouched and stumbled and wandered, becoming more familiar with its character as a home away from home. Simply non-narrative, a series of moments in unintended sequence. It's forever difficult to avoid our projections, to disassemble the stories we tell ourselves. As a slow heartbeat, it shifts, percussion and melody hitting in sync, the blinks of an eye as it opens and shuts engaged in memory, or just recognising a present moment as it is. Nothing more, nothing less. Often ignorant of the small happenings, the beautiful details, we are caught rushing, too distracted, churning opinion-decision-selection-self-justification-dropping out into escapist behavior. Where are you? Are you here? A reflection of perhaps some sort of disappointment, but a re-grounding one, to happily and calmly step back - a bottoming out, a warmly withdrawn pause where we remember to look at the backs of our own hands, slowly.
